McPhy signs an 8-year maintenance contract with Siemens Energy as part of the CEOG project.

McPhy Energy, a specialist in low-carbon hydrogen production and distribution equipment (electrolysers and charging stations), announced the signing of an 8-year maintenance contract with Siemens Energy, acting as builder and operator of the West Guyana Power Plant (“CEOG”) project founded by Meridiam, Société Anonyme de la Raffinerie des Antilles (SARA) and Hydrogène de France (HDF)).

Under this agreement and starting in 2024, McPhy’s teams will manage the maintenance of the equipment that ensures the production of hydrogen as well as the supply of replacement parts and services to the site. McPhy will ensure a guarantee of availability and energy efficiency of the electrolyzer.

Combining a high-power electrolyzer, Augmented McLyzer 16 MW, supplied by McPhy, a photovoltaic solar park, a hydrogen storage unit and high-power fuel cells, CEOG will produce hydrogen that is then stored under pressure in tanks.

This hydrogen will be recombined with oxygen in the air in fuel cells to produce non-polluting electricity 24/7. CEOG will thus ensure the supply of electricity to 10,000 households in French Guiana at a cost competitive with the thermal power plants in the territory.
