Mol provides more efficient hydrogen filling in Bratislava
A filling station at Slovnaft’s Bratislava refinery will now provide a higher pressure of 350 bar for refuelling hydrogen buses and trucks, the Mol Group announced. The upgrade will increase the range of the buses by 40 per cent, which will significantly contribute to the more efficient operation of public transport in Bratislava.
The filling station inaugurated in 2023 is operated by Messer Slovnaft, a joint venture between Slovnaft and Messer Tatragas. The cooperation is key to the development of the hydrogen infrastructure in Slovakia.
Ádám Horváth, Vice President of Downstream New and Sustainable Businesses at Mol Group, said:
At the Mol Group, our strategic goal is to support the implementation of smart green transport in innovative ways, such as making the mobility sector more sustainable through alternative energy sources,
“This is also the case with the current modernisation of the filling station in Bratislava, as well as investments such as the green hydrogen plant already launched in Százhalombatta, with a similar facility planned for Bratislava.”
The largest green hydrogen plant in Central and Eastern Europe to date, with a capacity of 10 megawatts, started operations at the MOL Group’s refinery in Százhalombatta last year.
