MTA Flint uses grant to buy hydrogen fuel buses, helping State’s carbon neutral goal.

Governor Whitmer visited Flint on Wednesday to celebrate the MTA’s Hydrogen Bus initiative.

MTA Flint has received a grant to purchase two new hydrogen fuel cell buses.

These buses will replace Flint’s last two diesel buses.

The Governor’s Office says this purchase will complete the city’s switch to clean energy public transportation.

This electric vehicle announcement puts Michigan one step closer to reaching Governor Whitmer’s MI Healthy Climate goal of being carbon neutral by 2050.

In her fifth budget, Govenor Whitmer proposed $45 million for the Michigan Clean Fleet Initiative to support local governments and businesses transitioning their vehicle fleet to electric vehicles and clean fuels.
