The Netherlands, Assen has a hydrogen filling station now, more places to follow.
From it is possible to refuel hydrogen in Assen. On the site of supplier Resato on the Duitslandlaan, the first of five filling points will be opened in Drenthe.
There will also be filling points in Beilen, Hoogeveen, Nieuw-Amsterdam and Peize. Exactly when these will open is still unclear, but the intention is that the majority will be in operation this year.

With these filling points we want to remove barriers to purchasing a hydrogen car.

Fast chargers
The Drenthe Energy Organisation is the financier of the entire network of filling points, Resato the supplier and Orange Gas the operator. A small infrastructure was deliberately chosen, because there are still few hydrogen cars in the province. If in the long term more of these types of vehicles go on the road, then larger stations may be built.
The five new petrol stations are mobile and can therefore be moved, says Hoek. This is not about fast charging, as is the case with Green Planet in Pesse. Hoek: “You have to compare it with electric driving, and you also have fast chargers. You can easily add the first 100 kilometers, but if you really want to have the car full until the last kilogram, you need half an hour to three quarters of an hour.”
The hydrogen station in Assen will be opened this afternoon by deputy Tjisse Stelpstra and alderman Mirjam Pauwels of the municipality of Assen.
