New temporary subsidy scheme
We will take the results of this consultation into account in the design of a new temporary subsidy scheme. The subsidy is intended to accelerate the transition to a climate-neutral economy with fewer (fossil) fuels. The government wants to use the subsidy scheme to encourage the use of renewable (sustainable) hydrogen. We help sectors that are important for this. The scheme follows from the GroenvermogenNL programme. The money for this programme comes from the National Growth Fund.
What is the purpose of the consultation?
- Receive information from you for the development of a subsidy scheme for projects within the manufacturing industry;
- Investigate what your plans are for these types of production facilities;
- Investigate what your needs are in order to be able to help your project further.
What will be the subsidy budget?
The total budget of GroenvermogenNL is € 838 million. The results of this consultation will help determine the subsidy budget for this scheme. We think we will divide the subsidy budget over more application rounds. How we do that remains to be determined. This can be done on a first-come, first-served basis. Or as a tender, in which the projects that score the highest receive a subsidy.
This consultation is based on the possibilities of a subsidy in the temporary crisis and transition framework (TCTF) for state aid. The European Commission approved the extension of this framework in early March 2023. We are carrying out this consultation on behalf of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy and GroenvermogenNL.
