Netherlands – The King and Minister Van Veldhoven attend the World Hydrogen Summit & Exhibition
His Majesty the King will visit the World Hydrogen Summit & Exhibition (WHS) on Wednesday afternoon, 20 May 2026. Subsequently, the King will attend the commissioning of the first phase of Gasunie’s hydrogen network. This will take place at the Schiecentrale in Rotterdam. Stientje van Veldhoven-van der Meer, Minister for Climate and Green Growth, will also be present.
TheWorld Hydrogen Summit & Exhibition (WHS)2026 takes place on May 19, 20, and 21 at Rotterdam Ahoy. Governments, companies, and experts from around the world come together at WHS to share knowledge and strengthen international cooperation. Additionally, they aim to accelerate the development of hydrogen as a sustainable energy carrier.ย
Launch of digital hydrogen guide
King Willem-Alexander and Minister Van Veldhoven-van der Meer are visiting the exhibition floor. They will speak with representatives of companies at various stands about their contribution to the energy transition.
The King is also launching the digital hydrogen guide. The Hydrogen Guide is presented by Nederland Waterstofland, TKI Duurzame Energie, FME, and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO). This guide contains 270 company profiles of Dutch companies in the hydrogen sector.
Delivery of the first part of the hydrogen network
Subsequently, the King and the Minister will attend the completion of the first part of the national hydrogen network. Gasunie started the construction of this network inOctober 2023.
