Chile: major player in green hydrogen
With the sun in the north and the wind in the south, Chile has a huge supply of renewable energy. The country wants to become a major producer of green hydrogen. In this way, they ensure their own energy transition, but they also serve a (new) export market.

Chile even has a surplus of renewable energy. The country will probably become one of the cheaper providers of hydrogen. This offers opportunities for various Dutch companies. For example:
- companies with services such as human capital development (development of talents and competences);
- companies with products and services for storage, pipelines and electrolysers;
- companies working on renewable energy production, in particular solar and wind;
- companies that are working on the logistics side of green hydrogen, such as port development, transport and the set-up of associated infrastructure.
Pilot projects: studies and reports
Chile initiated several pilot projects. A pilot project is specifically about generation with wind energy. Another pilot project is mainly about generation with solar energy. View the studies and reports below.
