Nuclear is necessary, hydrogen’s momentum has ebbed, Iberdrola’s Galan says

DAVOS, Jan 23 (Reuters) – Nuclear energy in Europe is essential “for keeping the lights on” while hydrogen’s momentum “has already diminished”, the executive chairman of Europe’s largest utility Iberdrola (IBE.MC), said at the World Economic Forum annual meeting in Davos on Thursday.

Ignacio Sanchez Galan said,

At least the nuclear power plants already in operation, we have demonstrated they are safe and they are efficient, are absolutely needed for keeping the lights on when new demand, such as data centres, is appearing,
