Amsterdam . Opel is now also introducing the new Opel Movano as the Movano HYDROGEN. Opel’s large commercial vehicle is already available as the fully electric Movano Electric and in versions with a combustion engine . The new hydrogen-electric variant makes its debut at the IAA Transportation , the leading trade fair for logistics, commercial vehicles and the transport sector, which takes place in Hanover from 16 to 22 September.
Opel Movano HYDROGEN: no time lost with charging or refueling
The Opel Vivaro HYDROGEN has already proven that you can drive long distances locally emission-free. Opel is now also introducing the innovative drivetrain for its largest light commercial vehicle (LCV). With the hydrogen-electric Movano, Opel shows that an innovative drive concept with fuel cell is suitable for everyday use. With its drivetrain with fuel cell and battery, the Movano HYDROGEN drives locally emission-free and has a range of around 500 kilometers (WLTP). The hydrogen tanks are filled up within five minutes and the Movano HYDROGEN offers the same flexibility and the same loading volume as the other versions.
The electric motor delivers 110 kW (150 hp) of power and a maximum torque of 410 Nm. The 11 kWh lithium-ion battery provides support during starting and acceleration. As a result, the fuel cell always works under optimum operating conditions.
Another major advantage of the drive system: it recovers braking energy and stores it as electricity in the battery. This is done via the electric motor, which also functions as a generator. All drive technology and the hydrogen tanks are integrated into the vehicle in a space-saving manner, so that the Movano makes no concessions in terms of everyday use. The full capacity of the flexible Movano HYDROGEN can therefore be fully utilised. The large LCV offers – depending on the variant – up to 17 m 3 of loading space and up to 1,370 kg of payload.
Combo Electric: compact, flexible, stylish
Opel will also be presenting the new Opel Combo Electric and the battery-electric Opel Rocks Electric with Kargo kit for delivery services at stand C70 in hall 13 at the IAA in Hannover.
The Opel Combo Electric has a fresh new design. The latest edition of the compact van is instantly recognisable as an Opel, with its newly designed front featuring the characteristic Opel Vizor. In addition to all the qualities of the previous version, the new Combo is now also equipped with the glare-free Intelli-Lux Matrix Light. This makes the Combo Electric the first model in its segment to feature modern adaptive lighting. The new Combo Electric offers a locally emission-free range of up to 354 kilometres (WLTP), around eighty kilometres more than its predecessor.
Rocks Electric with KARGO kit
Opel’s smallest electric car is appearing in Hanover with the special KARGO kit. With its ultra-compact dimensions of 2.41 x 1.39 x 1.52 meters (lxwxh) and the KARGO kit, the Rocks Electric offers an additional modularly divisible loading space. This transforms the two-seater into a practical delivery vehicle in no time at all. With a turning circle of just 7.20 meters, the Rocks Electric can be easily steered through tight bends and alleys and small parking spaces. With an electric range of up to 75 kilometers, it is the ideal solution for delivering parcels, fast food or medicines in the city and locally without emissions.
