Paraguay – Dutch company plans to invest more than USD 100 million in green hydrogen
Rediex authorities received representatives from the company ADA Green Hydrogen Holdings BV, who presented a project for the production of green hydrogen and ammonia in the town of Villa Hayes, positioning Paraguay as a regional hub for the creation of renewable energy.
The business delegation was accompanied by the Paraguayan ambassador to Turkey, Ceferino Valdez; while the Director General of Strategic Planning, Ernesto Rojas, and the Investment Specialist for Exports, Criss Díaz, were present on behalf of the Network, who received the president of Ada Green Hydrogen Investments BV, Akin Gündüz.
The green hydrogen and ammonia initiative in Paraguay will operate in the country under the name “Honest Ada Hydrogen Investment EAS”, and projects an investment of more than USD 100 million. The construction of the plant is scheduled for the second quarter of 2024, with operations beginning in the first quarter of 2028.
The company will be based in the city of Villa Hayes, due to the significant logistical advantages that the area offers and which allows for scalable production capacity.
Businessman Akin Gunduz said that this project will not only position the country as a regional leader in renewable energy, but also provides significant socio-economic benefits, including job creation, technological advancements and greater energy security.

Energy hub
Located in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, Ada Green Hydrogen Investment BV is the merger of two companies, Erih Holdings BV and Pash Global, majority owned by Trafigura. It focuses on the development and investment in green hydrogen projects, with the aim of promoting the sustainable energy transition.
The green hydrogen and ammonia project within the national territory will also strengthen Paraguay’s energy security and open avenues for exporting green hydrogen, generating substantial economic revenues and fostering long-term growth.
