Peru approves environmental study for green hydrogen plant
LIMA, March 19 (Reuters) – Peru’s government approved an environmental impact study for a green hydrogen plant that is expected to cost $12.5 billion, Production Minister Sergio Gonzalez announced on Wednesday.
Firm Horizonte de Verano’s green hydrogen plant will be built on a 12,000-hectare site in the southern region of Arequipa with construction expected to start in 2026, Gonzalez said in a press conference.
