PowerCell has received an order worth about SEK 50m from Norway’s LH2 Shipping for the delivery of 4 MW marine fuel cell systems
Fuel cell company PowerCell has received an order worth about SEK 50m from Norway’s LH2 Shipping for the delivery of 4 MW marine fuel cell systems for two cargo vessels that will run on liquid hydrogen.
Deliveries will run through 2028, and the parties also intend to sign long-term service agreements that could generate future service revenue.
The order covers PowerCell’s Marine System 225 and is described by the company as a step that strengthens its position in zero-emission shipping. The company also says the project will help complete DNV type approval for the platform.
Ivan Oestvik, CEO of LH2 Shipping, in a comment, says:
The partnership with PowerCell will strengthen our ability to execute several projects currently under development and further accelerate the industrialization of hydrogen-based zero-emission vessels.
