Powerhouse Energy wins contract with National Hydrogen in Australia
Powerhouse Energy Group PLC on Monday said it has been awarded a front-end engineering design study contract by National Hydrogen Ltd of Australia for its new Western Australia project.
The Bingley, England-based non-recyclable waste-to-energy conversion company, which already has a five-year licensing and royalties framework agreement with National Hydrogen, said the contract was with its engineering consulting division Engsolve Ltd, and held a value of £350,000.
Data gathering is due to begin in December, and the FEED study is scheduled to start in January.
The two-hectare National Hydrogen site, recently secured from the Western Australian government, is within the heavy industrial estate to the south of Perth in East Rockingham, and is ‘strategically located’ for both electricity and hydrogen off-takers.
After the FEED study has concluded, National Hydrogen will be able to submit a planning & permitting application for the site.
Chief Executive Officer Paul Emmitt said:
I am very pleased that Engsolve has been awarded this order for the FEED study.
“This is a key milestone for both Powerhouse Energy and National Hydrogen and will secure revenues for Engsolve, and thus Powerhouse, whilst also further building our relationship with National Hydrogen. Given the agreement that we have with National Hydrogen, we believe that 2025 will be an exciting time for both companies, as we not only look to progress the Western Australia project, but also look to develop other new opportunities.’
Shares in Powerhouse Energy were down 0.8% at 1.06 pence each in London on Monday afternoon.
