Pure Hydrogen marks entry into South Australia with sales contract for hydrogen waste collection vehicle.
Clean energy business Pure Hydrogen has announced the execution of a sales agreement with Solo Resource Recovery for a Hydrogen Fuel Cell (HFC) waste collection truck, marking the company’s first foray into the South Australian market.
The latest sale agreement follows the successful delivery of two electric mini-buses to Sapphire Coast Buslines in NSW, as Pure Hydrogen executes on its strategy to become a leading provider of zero-emissions solutions for the heavy vehicles sector across Australia.
As well as emitting zero CO2 emissions, hydrogen vehicles deliver a number of key advantages in the waste management sector – most notably that they are significantly quieter than incumbent trucks in the market which results in less disruption.

Bursting into South Australia
Pure Hydrogen (ASX: PH2) has secured a sales agreement with Solo Resource Recovery for a hydrogen fuel cell waste collection truck as part of its services to councils.
The sales agreement entails the supply of a rear-loading HFC waste collection truck to Solo, which will serve the City of West Torrens Council aligning with the council’s strategy to adopt clean energy solutions for waste management services.
The sale agreement follows an extensive period of collaboration between Pure Hydrogen and Solo which remains ongoing, with advanced product testing now nearing completion.
Solo Resource Recovery, a leading waste management company, is conducting a separate trial in NSW for a side-loader HFC waste collection truck.

What’s next?
Pure Hydrogen anticipates the deployment of the hydrogen fuel cell waste collection truck in the second half of CY2024, pending approvals.
The company continues to explore opportunities for expanding its hydrogen vehicle fleet across various industries, including waste collection and passenger transport sectors.
Discussions with potential customers are underway, with a focus on capitalising on the growing demand for clean-energy vehicles.
