SAN Group builds first green hydrogen production plant in Lower Austria. Herzogenburg (OTS) – The SAN Group is investing in a hydrogen plant in the Herzogenburg industrial park that is operated 100% with renewable energy. To supply the electrolysis, a dedicated photovoltaic system with a capacity of 1.5 MW is being built on the roofs of the company’s own industrial park. This corresponds to an annual energy consumption of around 200 households.

The total investment in hydrogen production including connected photovoltaics amounts to around 3 million euros. The plant is scheduled to go into operation in spring 2022. The project partner is the Upper Austrian family company Fronius International GmbH.
