Saudi Arabia – Hydrogen production more efficient than in Germany.
Saudi Arabia can produce green hydrogen more efficiently than Germany. This is revealed by a recent report by the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (Kapsarc), according to which the Kingdom’s high levels of solar radiation translate into lower costs for the production of hydrogen with solar energy, in stark contrast to methods based on Wind energy typically employed in areas with less exposure to light, such as Germany.
The report also highlights that in order to achieve a daily production of 600 tonnes of green hydrogen by 2030, Saudi Arabia could invest 25 percent less than Germany thanks to its solar-based production method. According to Kapsarc, financing costs in the Kingdom are at least 200 basis points lower than in Germany, even after taking shipping costs into account.
