Sinomach – hydrogen fuel cell electric buses debut in Australia.
Jiangxi Kama Business Bus Co Ltd (Bonluck Bus), a subsidiary of Sinomach, recently rolled out its first hydrogen fuel-cell buses in the Australia market, the only passenger cars of this kind in the country.
The official launch of the buses was featured by multiple local media outlets such as 9-News and Cannings Purple, and “Made in China” has been tagged with innovation, trendsetter, excellence and low carbon emissions.
As the first Chinese bus manufacturer to enter the Australian market, Bonluck Bus is well known in the local market, and has produced nearly 3,000 vehicles for tourism, passenger transport and urban public transport in Australia.
It is also the first company to export Chinese-made diesel buses, hybrid buses and pure electric buses to the country.
The hydrogen fuel-cell bus is powered by the system of Hyzon Motors, a world-famous supplier of hydrogen fuel cell powered vehicles, and has a range of 430 miles (700 kilometers). With a stainless steel and aluminum body, the bus lasts more than twice as long as most of its gasoline competitors. Besides, it is free of emissions, has a driving range and a short refueling time.
The hydrogen-powered buses were developed for a renewable hydrogen power project of Fortescue Metals Group (FMG), a world-leading iron ore company in Australia. Bonluck Bus and FMG have signed an initial contract for 10 buses.
The project has contributed to the transformation and upgrading of the local mining groups represented by FMG, helping them realize the targets of decarbonization and zero emissions. Bonluck Bus will also further consolidate and expand the Australian and global market through this project.
BLK AUTO, the dealer of Bonluck Bus in Australia, has signed a new memorandum of understanding with Lion Energy, an Australian listed company. The two sides will leverage their shared resources to provide hydrogen transportation services and hydrogen infrastructure in Australia.
