SNAM, hydrogen infrastructure leader, awarded by Environmental Finance for innovation in sustainable finance.
Snam was awarded the “Bond Awards 2021 – Award for innovation” assigned by the specialized international magazine Environmental Finance.
An award for Snam’s sustainable finance. The company led by the managing director Marco Alverà won the “Bond Awards 2021 – Award for innovation” assigned by the specialized international magazine Environmental Finance.
Snam, hydrogen infrastructure leader, received this recognition for the “innovative and forward-looking” framework of its bonds that finance the energy transition from Environmental Finance. This framework incorporates the decarbonisation objectives announced in Snam’s 2020-2024 strategic plan, announced last November.

The Environmental Finance jury praised the “excellent combination of uses of proceeds” set out in the framework and its alignment with the company’s long-term goals in the energy transition. Last year Snam issued two bonds under the framework, for a total value of 1.1 billion euros.
Sustainable finance is a pillar of Snam’s ESG strategy and activities in the energy transition (biomethane, energy efficiency, hydrogen, sustainable mobility). By 2024, sustainable finance will increase from 40 to 60% of Snam’s total loans.
