Switch2 welcomes new shareholder Jord Group – Jord has invested in SwitcH2 BV to jointly finalize the design of the 300 MW Offshore Floating Ammonia Project

Jord International, with over 5 decades of experience in designing and constructing process plants, announces that it has signed a shareholders agreement with SwitcH2 BV, a renewable energy company with investors such as  BW Offshore, a leading provider of offshore production solutions and Dutch Oceans Capital.

Under the agreement JOGS, a JORD Group subsidiary based near Rotterdam, will contribute to the final design phase of SwitcH2’s groundbreaking green FPSO. JOGS is well-known in the global FPSO industry for the design and construction of topside modules.

SwitcH2 is a project developer with a pipeline of industrial scale floating green hydrogen and green ammonia production facilities based on proven Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) technologies.  Its flagship project in Portugal will be a 300 MW floater based on Ohmium’s PEM electrolyzer solutions, ThyssenKrupp’s ammonia synthesis and ABB’s electrical and control systems. Powered by nearshore solar and wind power, green ammonia will be produced on board the vessel for shipment to local users and the Benelux ports.
