TB Global Technologies Ltd Awarded for the supply of Liquefied Hydrogen Loading Arms for Liquefied Hydrogen Supply Chain Commercialization Project
We are pleased to announce that TB Global Technologies Ltd. (Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Laurent Poidevin), a group company of Tokyo Boeki Holdings Corporation. (Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Hideshige Tsubouchi), has been awarded for the supply of liquefied hydrogen (LH2) loading arm (LA, see Figure 1) for the liquefied hydrogen terminal “Kawasaki LH₂ Terminal” for the liquefied hydrogen supply chain commercialization project* promoted by Japan Suiso Energy, Ltd. (Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Eiichi Harada; hereinafter “JSE”).
* The project, promoted by JSE and Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. aims to confirm the requirements for commercializing the international hydrogen supply chain (performance, safety, durability, reliability, economic viability, etc.) domestically by fiscal year 2030, while operating the Kawasaki LH₂ Terminal and LH2 carriers. After fiscal year 2030, it is planned to import LH2 from overseas to Japan via LH2 carriers, receiving and storing imported LH2 at the Kawasaki LH₂ Terminal, and to supply it to domestic hydrogen consumers.
The LA which we will manufacture and supply to Kawasaki LH₂ Terminal can be used for both loading and unloading.
Development of the liquefied hydrogen loading arm has been jointly conducted with Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd. since 2014. Based on the world’s first loading operation achieved with the first unit in 2023, we are now working on commercialization development.
To comply with the requisitions for cryogenic conditions and stringent safety standards, we have enhanced reliability of LA through continuous design improvements and severe testing.
We extend our deepest gratitude to Kawasaki Heavy Industries as development partner, as well as to our customers, partners, and all stakeholders who have walked with us throughout this long period of development and demonstration.
As an achievement of such efforts, we take great pride that our LA has been selected for this commercialization demonstration project.
We will contribute to the establishment of an LH2 supply chain and the realization of a carbon-neutral society through safe and smooth loading operation by our LH2 LAs.
