Tenaris delivers THera® storage system for Oman’s first green hydrogen refueling station
Tenaris has completed the delivery of its THera® hydrogen storage system for Oman’s first green hydrogen refueling station, developed by Hydrogen Systems, a Saudi Arabia-based leader in hydrogen technologies across the Middle East. The new facility, located near Muscat International Airport, will support a fleet of hydrogen-fueled taxis operated by Mwasalat, the Sultanate’s national transport company.

Featuring nine THera® storage vessels (eight rated at 1034 bar and one at 550 bar), the station is designed to produce up to 130 kilograms of green hydrogen per day, enabling daily operations for 15 zero-emission vehicles. In addition to hydrogen fueling, the site will offer EV fast-charging and conventional fueling, serving as a multi-energy hub aligned with Oman’s sustainability agenda.
The Oman station is part of a broader effort to position the country as a regional leader in green hydrogen. The Sultanate’s has set an ambitious goal to produce 1.2 million tonnes of green hydrogen annually by 2030 across eight major projects.
