TES and SOCAR Sign Joint Study Agreement to Explore e-NG Project in Azerbaijan
Tree Energy Solutions (“TES”), a global green energy company, and SOCAR, Azerbaijan’s national oil company, have signed a Joint Study Agreement (JSA) to explore the development of an electric natural gas (e-NG) project in Azerbaijan. This agreement will enable both companies to assess the technical, economic, and commercial feasibility of implementing TES’s cutting-edge upstream module technology in the region.
The JSA marks an important step in the collaboration between TES and SOCAR, as both parties align their expertise in renewable energy and infrastructure. Azerbaijan, with its strategic location and SOCAR’s extensive energy experience, offers an ideal environment for exploring the production of this innovative green molecule and potentially scaling up e-NG production for broader applications. e-NG produced in Azerbaijan could be delivered to Europe via the existing gas network infrastructure, such as the Southern Gas Corridor.
TES has established itself as a trusted and reliable partner for the production and commercialisation of e-NG, a clean e-fuel produced using renewable electricity and CO2. TES’s innovative upstream module configuration, which combines electrolyser, methaniser, and balance-of-plant (BOP) systems, is designed to generate e-NG efficiently and reliably, presenting a promising opportunity to advance sustainable energy in Azerbaijan.
The study will outline the project’s parameters and examine its viability and benefits for the region, including the development of green energy infrastructure, job creation, and environmental impact. This is possible thanks to SOCAR’s in-depth expertise in the region, which provides a strong foundation for assessing and maximising the project’s local impact.
MarcoAlverà, CEO and Co-Founder of TES, stated:
We are thrilled to join forces with SOCAR in exploring this ambitious project in Azerbaijan.
“This partnership reflects our commitment to harnessing the unique benefits of hydrogen through e-fuels leveraging existing infrastructure—what we believe to be the most effective way to unlock hydrogen’s potential. By delivering a scalable e-fuel that reaches customers without requiring new technology or infrastructure, we are setting the stage for an immediate impact on global decarbonization”
Afgan Isayev, Vice President of SOCAR, commented:
This Joint Study Agreement with TES represents a significant step forward in our commitment to driving innovation and sustainability in energy sector.
“By exploring the potential of synthetic methane production, we aim to leverage strategic resources and infrastructure to contribute to global decarbonization efforts.”
