TES appoints Kenji Ohta as Senior Representative Japan to lead green energy expansion in the far east, hydrogen included.
The Board of TES, a global green energy company at the forefront of e-NG (electric natural gas derived from green hydrogen, also known as e-methane) production, announce the appointment of Kenji Ohta as Senior Representative of TES in Japan. This strategic move comes as the company remains committed to its mission of becoming the largest e-NG producer worldwide.
In his new role, Kenji will lead the newly to-be-established office in Tokyo, Japan. He will be responsible for building TES’s business in Japan and the Far East, providing crucial support in developing the company’s strategic plan and resource allocation. His addition to the fast-growing and dynamic team at TES is pivotal, as the company continues to advance its ambitious goal of democratizing access to reliable and affordable green energy through giga-scale projects.
Japan, the fifth-largest energy importer globally, showcases advanced infrastructure and has been a pioneer in seeking long-term energy and decarbonization solutions. With ambitious hydrogen integration plans, Japan recognizes e-NG as a key solution for decarbonizing city gas networks and has made a significant commitment to transitioning 90% of its city gas to e-NG by 2050, also envisioning broader applications for hydrogen and e-NG in its future energy system.

TES’s e-NG is a drop-in solution to reduce Japan’s reliance on fossil fuels and accelerate its green transition. Through renewable energy and recycled COâ‚‚, TES will produce e-NG and ship it directly to Japan, efficiently meeting the country’s demand for eco-friendly molecules and seamlessly integrating them into the existing energy mix via existing infrastructure.

Kenji is an industry expert with an illustrious career in the field of LNG. Prior to joining TES, Kenji dedicated 37 years to Mitsubishi Corporation (MC), playing an important role in various aspects of the LNG supply chain, covering exploration, drilling, production, shipping, and marketing. At MC, Kenji worked in different locations such as Tokyo, Osaka, Kuala Lumpur, and Dubai.
He contributed to the initiation and execution of multiple LNG projects, including NWS, Brunei Extension, Malaysia Satu Extension, Malaysia Dua, and Tangguh. His expertise has continued to flourish over time, leading him to hold key positions such as Chief Representative in Malaysia and later serving as the Regional CEO (Middle East) in Dubai.
In his role as the Head of the Middle East Hydrogen Taskforce, he took on the responsibility of spearheading the development of low-emission clean fuel projects, particularly focusing on hydrogen and ammonia, among other innovative ventures.
