The first Chinese domestic integrated project of “offshore wind power + marine ranching + seawater hydrogen production” successfully lifted the first wind turbine.
Recently, the first wind turbine of the Mingyang Yangjiang Qingzhou Four Seas Wind Farm Project (hereinafter referred to as the Qingzhou Four Projects) has been officially lifted, marking the official entry of the wind turbine installation phase for the farthest offshore project in China’s offshore and deepwater areas.
As the first integrated project of “offshore wind power+marine ranching+seawater hydrogen production” in China, the Qingzhou Four Project plans to have an installed capacity of 500MW and plans to deploy more than 40 Mingyang intelligent offshore large wind turbines, including 11MW, 12MW, and 16.6MW floating wind turbines.
At the same time, the Qingzhou IV project will leverage the deployment of “jacket+net cage” wind fishing integration equipment and seawater hydrogen production equipment to build the country’s first “offshore wind power+marine ranching+seawater hydrogen production” integration project.
The wind farm site of Qingzhou-4 project covers an area of 73.69 square kilometers, with a water depth of 45-47 meters and a central offshore distance of about 67 kilometers. The annual equivalent full load power generation hours are 3615 hours. After the project is completed and put into operation in December 2023, it can provide approximately 1.83 billion kilowatt hours of clean energy power generation annually, save 570000 tons of standard coal, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 1.4 million tons.
Zhang Chuanwei, Chairman and CEO of Mingyang Intelligent, stated that integrated development models such as offshore wind power hydrogen production, ocean ranching, and joint development will be the future trend.
Mingyang Intelligent is fully promoting the construction and investment of the offshore floating comprehensive energy industry that integrates offshore wind power, seawater hydrogen production, and marine ranching, and innovatively promoting the high-quality integration and development of marine technology and equipment, marine energy, and marine economy.
