A company from the Region of Murcia has installed the first equipment in Spain that generates green hydrogen. It is a compact and functional machine with ‘zero’ carbon emissions, which can be used as fuel or energy storage in the agricultural sector and which was announced by the company ACOM-Agrocomponentes , according to regional government sources in a statement. .
Since it was put into operation on November 3, in just 10 days 25 kg of green H2 have been generated , equivalent to 420 kWh of storage electricity, which represents a reduction in emissions of more than one ton of CO2 Equivalent to the planting several dozen trees.
This equipment allows large amounts of hydrogen to be stored at low pressure (less than 40 bars) and low temperature. This type of metal hydride hydrogen storage technology is capable of storing the same energy as a pressurized gas tank in 15 times less volume.
These systems guarantee up to 3,500 charge and discharge cycles without capacity loss or storage degradation; It also has an estimated useful life of up to 30 years.
The company ACOM-Agrocomponetes has facilities of 10,000 square meters and offices in both Mexico and Turkey, is dedicated to technological innovation applied to agriculture. It has been focused since its inception on solutions for the automation and modernization of greenhouses and crops.
One of its goals is that agricultural production facilities, through passive solutions, have better energy performance. It is a company that respects the environment and is aware of the growing importance of clean energy.
