TU Delft students want to break Toyota Mirai hydrogen record.

[Ruetir] Students of the Eco-Runner Team of Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) have their sights set on a world record that is still in the hands of Toyota. The clever minds want to drive a record distance on one tank of hydrogen with a self-built hydrogen car.

In May, Toyota proudly reported that it had squeezed no less than 1,003 kilometers from the hydrogen tanks of the new Mirai. Quite an achievement, especially when you consider that the Mirai has a range of 650 kilometers on paper. Students of the Eco-Runner Team of TU Delft have set themselves the goal of breaking Toyota’s record.

The Eco-Runner Team will let its self-developed hydrogen car, the Eco-Runner XI, drive no less than 30 hours on 5 and 6 July. During that estimated 30 hours, seven different drivers will get behind the wheel.
