Tyczka Hydrogen Becomes First Company Certified Under the CertifHy EU RFNBO Scheme
CertifHy is proud to announce the first-ever certification under its EU RFNBO Scheme, delivered to Tyczka Hydrogen, a key player in the European hydrogen value chain. The certificate was officially issued on 15 April 2025 by TÜV SÜD, a CertifHy-recognized Certification Body.
This certification validates Tyczka Hydrogen’s compliance with the ambitious requirements of the EU’s Renewable Energy Directive (RED II) for Renewable Fuels of Non-Biological Origin (RFNBOs). It confirms that their trading and distribution operations qualify under EU rules as contributing to the delivery of renewable hydrogen and e-fuels to the market.
Matthieu Boisson, General Manager at CertifHy, said:
Tyczka Hydrogen is now the first energy trader to be certified under any of the recognized voluntary schemes for RFNBOs, setting an important precedent,
“This highlights the essential role of certified energy carriers and traders in bringing renewable hydrogen to where it is needed.”
Tyczka Hydrogen’s Managing Director Thomas Zorn, adds:
This is an important milestone, not only for Tyczka Hydrogen, but for the entire European hydrogen industry.
“We have eagerly anticipated this step for several years now and are happy that our team has achieved this certification in record time!”
As a facilitator between producers and consumers, Tyczka Hydrogen ensures that certified renewable hydrogen can be traded and transported reliably and efficiently across Europe. The recognition reinforces the company’s commitment to high-quality standards, sustainability, and the development of a mature hydrogen market.
