Van Kessel places order for 5 hydrogen trailers for supplying filling stations, trailers are being built by Hexagon Purus.
The Van Kessel Group from Milheeze has ordered 5 trailers for the transport of hydrogen. The trailers are built by Hexagon Purus, a Norwegian company specialized in hydrogen systems. Van Kessel will use the trailers for the supply of its Greenpoint hydrogen filling stations.
The trailers are equipped with 20ft containers with special Type 4 lightweight composite cylinders in which hydrogen is stored under a pressure of 300 bar. Each trailer can carry 400 kg of hydrogen.
The trailers are supplied by Wystrach GmbH, a subsidiary of Hexagon Purus, which specialises in hydrogen storage and distribution systems. Deliveries are planned in the period Q3 2022 to Q1 2023.
Network of hydrogen filling stations
Van Kessel will use the trailers for the supply of hydrogen to filling stations. Van Kessel is the operator of the Greenpoint Hysolar hydrogen filling station in Nieuwegein. Projects for new hydrogen stations in Oude-Tonge, Ede and Dordrecht, among others, are at an advanced stage.
Joan van Kessel, Managing Director of Van Kessel:
Our goal is to become a leading player in the Dutch hydrogen market with a strategic network of hydrogen filling stations and production of green hydrogen.
“The investment in these hydrogen trailers is an important step towards achieving that goal. With these trailers we can supply locations where local production of green hydrogen is not (yet) possible.” Thanks for staying up to date with Hydrogen Central.
The Van Kessel Group from Milheeze (gem. Gemert-Bakel) is active in the sale and distribution of (sustainable) fuels and lubricants, as well as operator of 36 filling stations in the south of the Netherlands.
This Brabant family business is currently working the road with initiatives for sustainable fuels and energy. For example, a network of 12 multi-energy stations with sustainable fuels will be operated under the name Greenpoint, charging stations will be placed at companies and the first hydrogen filling station nieuwegein was put into operation in July 2021.
