Worley secures contract for East Coast Hydrogen project, Project to deliver 10 GW of hydrogen into the network.
Worley, a leading global provider of professional project and asset services in the energy, chemicals and resources sectors, has been awarded the contract to deliver the pre-FEED (Front End Engineering Design) and technical survey for the East Coast Hydrogen Pipeline (ECHP) project led by East Coast Hydrogen (ECH2).
The project will connect 10GW of hydrogen production from Humber and Teesside industrial hubs to the gas network. With this project, Cadent aims to connect hydrogen supplies between Humberside and Northampton, potentially creating a 240km network that will address the UK’s future decarbonised energy demands.
Worley’s role in the project is to deliver a study for Cadent to understand how to transition natural gas supply into hydrogen and provide crucial information on the pipeline’s potential route and sizing. This will be followed with a pre-FEED study for the project.

ECH2comprises a collaborative partnership with Cadent, Northern Gas Networks and National Gas Transmission, with the project supporting the UK Government’s plans to meet their 2050 net-zero targets.
