Zeevonk awards FEED contract for wind powered hydrogen facility in Rotterdam to Wood
Vattenfall & CIP are developing ‘Zeevonk,’ a project that combines offshore wind, floating solar, and green hydrogen. The project is now taking a next step with the awarding of the front-end engineering design (FEED) for the hydrogen facility in Rotterdam to Wood.
The FEED, which will take place over the next ten months. It will provide detailed cost estimates and lay the groundwork for the upcoming EPC tender process, expected in Q2 this year.
The hydrogen plant will be powered by offshore wind and floating offshore solar from the Zeevonk offshore developments. The facility will be designed to reach significant peak consumption and, once complete, the produced hydrogen will be transported via pipeline to the nearby hydrogen grid, Hydrogen Network Rotterdam.
This network is the first phase of the new Dutch hydrogen infrastructure centered in the Port of Rotterdam, one of Europe’s most significant energy ports. Source: Zeevonk /Wood
