Tata Steel SEZ, Hygenco ink MoU for green hydrogen and green ammonia projects.
Tata Steel Special Economic Zone Ltd (part of the Tata Steel Group) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with green hydrogen and green ammonia solutions provider, Hygenco to establish a green hydrogen and green ammonia project at TSSEZL’s Gopalpur Industrial Park in Odisha.
As part of the newly forged deal, Hygenco will establish a large-scale green ammonia project in Gopalpur, Odisha that will produce 1 million tonnes per annum of green ammonia from this plant in different phases.

The collaboration builds upon the approval received in February 2024 from the High-Level Clearance Authority of the esteemed Chief Minister’s Office, Odisha.
“It also demonstrates Hygenco’s unwavering dedication to advance the sphere of sustainable energy.
The initial phase of the project is expected to be commissioned by December 2026.
